Favourite Things

I'm a collector of beautiful things.  Sea shells, blue glass, things found in the woods like moss, abandoned nests, pine cones you know the kind of thing I mean.

Come Through to the Deck

Acrylics on paper.  I did this painting last summer, it sold very quickly.  I was thinking I might like to try another version for myself.  I'm working on a portrait of my new kitty Molly now though.  She is a sweet little thing but not easy to paint.  She is a dark tabby with longish fur and a huge tail it's the tabby marking I find tough.  Oh well keep on keeping on I guess.  Josh Groban just came on the radio, I have to go listen.

EVENING SHADOWS
(Acrylic and Pencil)

Is a painting of my mom's dressing table and chair that since she is finished with it
I now use as a desk. It's in front of one of my windows. This is however an imaginary
sunset view as my neighbour has several large spruce trees that block our view of the sunset.

Late Summer Shadows

Liquid Acrylics on Paper

I've done several paintings of my living room
this is an older one. It's the side of the house that gets
the sun and beautiful shadows.

Dusty Memories

This painting was taken from a photo of my living room. The sun shining in the window was so pretty and caught my eye. I changed a few things, for one my fireplace has a gas insert and my window is three times this size. I wanted to show the stream of sunlight that was cutting through the room without having the window take up too much of the painting. I used acrylic paint and after it dried I used a wide brush with thin light paint to brush a stream through the room. I don't know of an easier way to get this affect although some of you might.
